The Ordinary's £8.70 Lacto-PDRN Eye Cream Claims To Firm Skin In Seconds

The vegan PDRN alternative pairs with vitamin B9 and film-forming technology for an under-makeup smoothing effect, a reviewer found.

The Ordinary's Lacto-PDRN 4% + B9 Eye Cream, priced at £8.70, uses a biotech-derived vegan alternative to salmon-derived PDRN that the brand says supports skin's natural repair process and improves the look of fine lines, firmness and elasticity over time. It's paired with folic acid (vitamin B9) for hydration and a film-forming ingredient the brand says creates an immediate smoothing and tightening effect.

Testing the cream for about a month, Who What Wear beauty editor Mica Ricketts reported a near-immediate smoothing effect after application, with the skin around her eyes looking fresher and more plump within seconds, and a tightening effect she attributed to the film-forming technology, most noticeable on her eyelids. She said the lightweight gel-cream texture layered well under concealer and powder without pilling, which The Ordinary states is part of the formula's design, and that it didn't cause the milia she's experienced with heavier eye creams.

Ricketts noted the cream isn't formulated to target puffiness or dark circles, and said longer-term results on fine lines were harder to judge after just a few weeks, though she found her under-eye area felt softer and more hydrated.
