Taylor Swift Wears Gold Glitter 'Fairy Dust' Manicure at 2026 Academy Museum Gala

Nail artists say the short, warm-toned shimmer look signals a softer, metallic shift away from fall's darker polish trends.

Taylor Swift wore a short, warm-toned glittery manicure nicknamed "gold fairy dust" to the 2026 Academy Museum Gala, pairing it with a gray-blue Dior dress. Zoya creative director Rebecca Isa called the look "Gilded Champagne Nails," describing it as "a beautiful, elevated take on metallics" with "a soft, shimmering gold finish."

Celebrity nail artist Max Estrada, founder of eNailCouture, said Swift has favored shimmery, naturally shaped manicures for years, calling it something of a signature for her. Vikki Swan, founder of the Vikki Swan Nail Academy in Los Angeles, said glitter is one of the fastest ways to make a simple manicure feel more dramatic, whether applied as fine shimmer or chunkier flecks.

Isa and Estrada both said they expect softer metallic shades like champagne and gold to gain ground this fall and winter as an alternative to darker polish trends such as "cherry noir" and "brown sugar espresso," with Estrada predicting manicures will trend toward "bigger, bolder, more opulent glamour" as the holidays approach.
