Dove is entering the fine fragrance category for the first time with a perfume designed to replicate the scent of its nearly 70-year-old Beauty Bar soap, according to Allure. The brand said the launch responds to demand from longtime users of the soap, which it estimates sells about 60 bars per second in the U.S. The bottle carries an oblong shape and gold cap echoing Dove's logo, developed with fragrance veteran Ann Gottlieb, whose past collaborators include Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Victoria's Secret.

Allure staffers who tested the scent said it matched the original bar almost exactly straight from the bottle, developing creamy, soapy notes on skin with hints of florals and, for some testers, a brief touch of bubblegum. The fragrance will be priced at $19.57, a nod to the brand's debut year, and will be available for a one-time-only purchase window on social media when it launches next week.
