Purple eyeshadow, first spotted on Fall/Winter 2026 runways from Chanel, Balenciaga, Carolina Herrera and Saint Laurent, has carried from spring red carpets into fall, with celebrities including Zendaya, Cardi B and Zara Larsson wearing versions of the look in recent months. Celebrity makeup artist Ash K Holm, whose clients include Lindsay Lohan and Khloé Kardashian, told Harper's Bazaar she's currently drawn to softer, muted tones like dusty lavender, cool-toned mauve and rich plum rather than the brighter amethyst seen on spring runways.
Holm said she likes building looks by sweeping a softer mauve through the crease, deepening plum along the lash line, and adding shimmer to the center of the lid, often using the YSL Couture Mini Clutch Eyeshadow Palettes for layering. New York-based makeup artist Jonathan Logan said he reaches for MISS PRI$$Y for its reflective finish, and recommended a long-wearing, waterproof plum shadow stick from Dior for an easy inner-corner highlight. Both artists said purple pairs well with a red lip or a soft pink blush, depending on how dramatic the eye look is.
