A deliberately smudged, unevenly applied manicure appeared on models at Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week, created by nail artist Mei Kawajiri, known as Nails by Mei. Unlike the Brazilian manicure technique, which also applies polish beyond the nail's edge before cleaning it up, this look leaves the sloppy application untouched.
Kawajiri described the style as the kind of nail art "even your boyfriend could have done," according to Glamour. The look stood out among other talked-about details from the show, which also featured actor Olivia Colman walking among the models, and nail artists and fans have since picked it up for fall beyond the runway.
