Searches for "lilac dress styling" and "milky lilac nails" rose 345% and 425%, respectively, in August and September 2026 compared with the same period last year, according to Pinterest data cited by Allure. Sydney Stanback, Pinterest's global head of trends and insights, said the sustained search volume "signals that lilac is more than a fleeting seasonal shade."

Nail artist Miss Pop, who sent sheer lilac pedicures down LoveShackFancy's recent runway show, described the color as "where pastel purple meets pink." Tate McRae wore lilac nails at the US Open, and Florence Pugh and Emilia Clarke both wore the color on LoveShackFancy's navy carpet. Beauty brands including Prada Beauty and Make Up For Ever have also added the shade to their fall collections. Los Angeles-based nail artist Sarah Chue said lilac works as a cool-toned alternative to summer's brighter colors, calling it "a sweet spot between neutral and colorful."
