Doja Cat marked her 31st birthday last weekend with a kawaii, anime-inspired makeup look featuring what Harper's Bazaar is calling "anime blush": layers of rosy blush across the cheeks and nose paired with pink diagonal lines on each cheek, a motif commonly used in anime to signal a character's embarrassment or excitement. The look, reportedly created by makeup artist Ivan Núñez, matched her glossy pink lips and eyeshadow, which included inner-corner highlights and black lashes.
The look was part of a Sanrio-themed birthday party where Doja Cat dressed as the character Mocha, with flower-adorned oversized ears and a matching furry two-piece. She isn't the only singer to try the style recently: Zara Larsson wore a similar kawaii-inspired flush, paired with purple eyeshadow and graphic eyelashes, during a Tokyo tour stop earlier this month.
