Dakota Johnson's Glossy Half-Up Look Relied on a $29 IGK Dry Gloss Spray

Hairstylist Mark Townsend used five IGK products to recreate a '90s-supermodel shine for Johnson's Verity premiere look, he said.

Dakota Johnson's shiny, half-up hairstyle at the New York premiere of Verity came from a five-product routine built around IGK's $29 Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray, according to her hairstylist, Mark Townsend. Townsend said he and Johnson were drawing on '90s supermodel hair to match her sparkly two-piece Calvin Klein look.

Townsend said he started by spraying IGK's Good Behavior 4-in-1 Prep Spray through Johnson's wet hair to detangle it and protect against heat before blow-drying with a round brush. He then sectioned the hair, applying the Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray — which he described as heat-activated — and running a curling iron over each piece, a step he said locks in shine and fights frizz for 24 hours.

To finish, Townsend brushed IGK's Good Behavior Flexible Anti-Frizz Hairspray through the hair before gathering it into a half-up style secured with Day Rate Beauty bobby pins, leaving face-framing pieces loose. He said he finished with IGK's Done Deal Strong Hold Finishing Hairspray on the pulled-back sections to block humidity before Johnson hit the carpet.
