Chanel creative director Matthieu Blazy built an avian theme into the hair at the brand's Spring/Summer 2027 runway show, reworking the classic French twist updo into a rounded, bird's-nest-inspired bun, according to Harper's Bazaar. The look tied into a broader bird motif at the show, which included birdsong played at the venue and illuminated feathered set pieces; some models wore feather earrings and feathered hairpins placed throughout the bun.

Manicurist Ama Quashie created the show's nail look separately, with gold-framed, marbled designs in pastel blues and deep reds featuring a Chanel logo detail. Hairstylist Guido Palau, commenting on the broader return of French-twist-style updos across recent runway seasons, told Bazaar: "When there's a hairstyle that has one foot in the past and one foot in the future, people respond well to it. There's something nostalgic, but it feels feminine, sculptural, and modern all at the same time."
